Research Interests
Dr. Axinn is a social demographer specializing in community and intergenerational influences on fertility and marriage behavior. He also specializes in the interrelationships among population and environmental changes and in mixed method approaches for measuring population change and variation. He was the Principal Investigator of the original project on “Reciprocal Relations between Population and Environment” and “Changing Social Contexts and Family Formation” in Nepal, sponsored by NICHD. He has extensive research experience in Nepal and has written numerous papers analyzing the causes of family and environmental change and variation in Nepal, as well as papers on methodological aspects of survey research in Nepal.
